About Us

Untitled-1Don Bosco Club Puttur is a Catholic Service Organisation founded in 1967 by a group of committed youth of Mai Deus Parish, Puttur, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Cyprian M. A. Lasrado, Asst. Parish Priest and well supported by Very Rev. Msgr. Antony Patrao, the then Parish Priest.

With St. John Bosco as its spiritual Patron, the Club enjoys the patronage of Mai De Deus Parish, Puttur.

The Organisation is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act and has its registered office at: Door No. __, Church Building, Puttur – 574201.

Untitled-2With ‘Toil and Smile’ as the motto, the prime objectives of the Club are:

  • Promotion of Konkani Culture through drama, music and literature.
  • Social empowerment through creative social service.
  • Promotion of emotional and spiritual development of members.

The membership, though originally intended to be restricted to Catholics of the local parish is presently open to all Catholic youth committed to the ideals of the Club, as the restriction was compelled to be removed subsequently, consequent to the division of the Parish twice, resulting in scattering of the then existing members all over the divided Parishes. Currently the Club has 181 members of whom 158 are permanent (Life) members.
